Today, Senator Rick Scott hosted a roundtable discussion with Florida sheriffs and police chiefs at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office to discuss the opioid epidemic and other issues facing Florida's law enforcement community.

At the roundtable, Senator Scott announced his STOP FENTANYL PACKAGE Act, a six-pronged bill that provides state, local and federal agencies, in partnership with health care providers and first responders, much-needed tools and resources to combat this crisis and save lives.

Senator Rick Scott said, "As Florida's Governor and U.S. Senator, I've had the privilege of working closely with Florida's law enforcement officers to make sure they have every resource needed to keep our families safe. The destruction and loss seen in our communities due to America's raging opioid epidemic is only growing worse as the crisis created by President Biden's failed policies on our southern border continues. Florida's law enforcement is on the front lines of this crisis. I was proud to be in Pinellas County today with some of our great sheriffs and police chiefs to discuss their efforts to combat the opioid epidemic and announce the introduction of my new bill, the STOP FENTANYL PACKAGE Act. I'll always stand with our brave law enforcement officers and never stop fighting to support the dangerous work they do to keep us safe."
